Ed Schultz: Cheney is "a trash-talking coward" (video)

MSNBC-ED Show, video (11:04).

Howie P.S.: Schultz delivers a cup of STFU to Cheney and is joined by Sen. Pat Leahy to discuss Cheney's comments and the prospects for making Bush officials accountable for war crimes and the torture program. Schultz labels Cheney a "trash-talking coward from the sideline." Leahy says
This is the administration that wanted on September 10, to cut our counter-terrorism funding almost in half. On September 12 they wanted to double it.
Leahy also invites Cheney to come before his Senate committee and testify under oath, if he has any information to share. In the video segment that follows from the NBC Nightly News, "Obama makes about-face on CIA interrogation tactics," the possibility of future prosecution and investigations is raised, based on Obama's latest remarks. The NY Times reports on the front page of Wednesday's edition in their story "Report Gives New Detail on Approval of Brutal Techniques"
A Senate report offered evidence that the military’s harsh interrogations of terrorism suspects were authorized at high levels of the Bush administration.
Another story on the torture program McClatchy suggests establishing a link between al Qaida and Iraq was one of the factors motivating the use of these interrogation methods.
A former U.S. Army psychiatrist, Maj. Charles Burney, told Army investigators in 2006 that interrogators at the Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, detention facility were under "pressure" to produce evidence of ties between al Qaida and Iraq.
