"Run, Barack, run! Please"

Joel Connelly:
A Washington, D.C., insider rap on Sen. Barack Obama is that he should gain experience and maturity in the Senate, and not yield to those urging him to run for president in 2008.
(snip)
Why run now? A few quick reasons:

The "wise men" of Washington, D.C., punditry have no business defining wisdom. Until recently, they performed as supine dorks backing the Bush administration's Iraq fiasco -- ignoring legitimate questions posed by dissenters like Obama.
(snip)
Obama shows a potential to bridge social, religious and racial divides that is unequaled by any American politician since Sen. Robert F. Kennedy.

He may not live up to the billing, but the only way is to test it.

Obama has a young family to first convince. If they agree to a run, the man's potential is boundless.

In 1960, the Dems had a strong field: It produced, in JFK, a young leader for the nation.
