''Two Candidates Announce for the Office of Washington State Democrats Chair''

"Two candidates have now announced that they are seeking election as Chair of the Washington State Democrats, replacing Paul Berendt whose resignation is effective on January 28. The election of the new Chair will take place at the Washington State Democrats meeting in Ellensburg on January 28.

More candidates are expected to announce in the next weeks.

The two announced candidates are:

Dwight Pelz, member of the Seattle City Council,
Website.

Greg Rodriguez, former Chair of the King County Democratic Central Committee,

-from the Clallam County Democrats via Susan Hu (thanks!). Actually Dwight would like to be on the Seattle City Council, but he is currently on the King County Council. Both of these candidates played active roles in Howard Dean's campaign for the Democratic presidential nomination.

probably so, but I bet he still wouldn't mind having that gig today. Perhaps I should have said, "he would have much rather been elected to the Seattle City Council."
