Meanwhile in Mayberry, Day Two....

Still no mention of "election irregularities" in the presidential campaign in the Seattle Times. Their coverage of the recount in the governor's race notes that Rossi picked up a handful of votes and quotes a Republican spokesperson: "Dino doesn't oppose a hand recount. It's all water over the dam now. We're in the middle of it. I don't know why the Democrats keep harping on the issue." Before the water started spilling, they felt the recount was a waste of time and money. The P-I takes a similar approach, but highlights the fact that "Republicans are, however, greatly concerned about the lawsuit filed in state Supreme Court by the Democrats asking that nearly 15,000 votes deemed invalid by county election officials be reviewed." And unlike other major metropolitan dailies in the country, the P-I also continues to not cover the voting problems in Ohio and elsewhere during our recent presidential election. I've still got the Howard Dean deck of cards, "Collector's Edition".
